It is not working as advertised. It is not functioning properly. I am experiencing repeated errors and the device has serious performance issues.Set up is a breeze, even a caveman can do it. Install your drives accept the defaults and it goes through a RAID sync before you can use it. That takes 8-10 hours. I put 3 each, 2GB drives in the unit. 3.6 GB free is the wind up. When I tried to copy files to the device, I got disk full errors immediately. Then it went into another RAID resync, a second time. That took another 8-10 hours. When the second sync was done, I tried to copy files to the device again. I got disk full errors immediately. You are offered up "click to continue". When you do that it continues. Of course it tries to copy the file again and again and sometimes again, until the copy is successful. You have to be there to click continue. The size of the file, the file type doesn't make a difference. But you... The browser interface is quite nice and allows you to quickly set up shares and users and check the status of the device. Installing a new drive is simple and the NAS will auto-detect it and rebuild the array automatically. Media=sharing is also quite easy. My XBox automatically saw the NAS and all the videos I managed to copy to it.Cons: The device does not work for more than a few hours. I was initially quite excited to finally have a decent NAS for our home network. That slowly diminished over time as I had nothing but trouble with this item. When I first tried to install drives and initialize the raid, it displayed errors that it could not load the RAID in the RAIDAR software that comes with the product. A little online research yielded that I needed to factory reset the device (twice) before it would pick up the drives I installed and create the RAID. After that... Tech support even rolled-back the firmware saying that the newest (3.5.6) was buggy. We were able to get remote access working temporarily with the roll-back. The following day it stopped working again. I went back to the newest FW and remote access started to work again for Windows but with my Mac Pro would continuously drop out. To restart it, I had to uninstall Remote Access and reinstall it again. After a few hours, it would drop out again. Trying to restart it, w/o reinstalling would consistently fail login. Freezing continued to happen about once a day and to restart the unit I had to power-down and power-up again. Power button would not power down the unit. Had to unplug power. Was told by tech support that the "PRO" and "ULTRA" models work. 0 The manufacturer commented on this review( What's this?)
